Optimization of Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Conjugated with Lepechinia meyenii (Salvia) Using Plackett-Burman Design and Response Surface Methodology—Preliminary Antibacterial Activity

In the present investigation, an ethanolic fraction (EF) of Lepechinia meyenii (salvia) was prepared and fractionated by gradient column chromatography, main secondary metabolites in EF were identified HPLC-MS. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) synthesized conjugated with (salvia). The AgNPs synthesis optimized using Plackett-Burman design response surface methodology (RSM), considering following independent variables: stirring speed, pH, time, temperature volume. under conditions characterized UV visible spectroscopy (UV-VIS), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM). antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC® 25923) evaluated. flavonoids identified: rosmarinic acid, diosmin hesperetin-7-O-rutinoside. for pH 9.45, 49.8 °C, volume 152.6 µL a reaction time 213.2 min. obtained exhibited average size 43.71 nm resonance plasmon 410–420 nm. Using FT-IR spectroscopy, disappearance peaks between 626.50 1379.54 cm−1 evident AgNPs, which would indicate participation these functional groups protection nanoparticles. A hydrodynamic 47.6 DLS, while 40–60 determined STEM. showed higher than alone. These results demonstrate that presented increased activity.
